Archie, Cary Grant and Robert Barham
It was by chance that Robert Barham heard the radio programme about a
man named Archie Leach, but it was to set him off on his own "Journey of a Lifetime".
For Archie Leach was to become none other than Hollywood great Cary Grant, and his
story was as dramatic as any of his films. The musical "Archie", composed and written
by Robert, is the culmination of that journey, and tells how humble Archie Leach grew
into the legendary Cary Grant. (The music on this site is all from "Archie", and you
can order the CD by pressing here or download it from iTunes, Napster or most major music download sites).
Researching "Archie" took Robert three years, from London, to Bristol (Archie's
hometown) and ultimately to the Californian sunshine and Hollywood. Along the
way he encountered a surprising number of coincidences, and these prompted him to
a write a book about his experiences. It is called "The Journey".
